Newly revised (March 2006), this classic handbook is a must for both veteran and new union stewards. The book schools stewards on their legal rights while also stressing that legal protections aren't an end in themselves but a tool for organizing union members. Topics include the National Labor Relations Act, the special status of union stewards, the grievance process, Weingarten rules, the duty of fair representation, and other federal labor laws. The book is also a great resources for reform-minded rank and filers trying to keep their union stewards in line.
